Native American book photography, graphic design, layout & production

This project represents my finest achievement: a comprehensive design project with deep personal meaning. This book, Lifeways of this Land, allowed me to combine my passion for Native American art, history and culture with my life's work of graphic design, layout and photography. In order to create this hard-bound, 12"-square museum-quality book, I began by cataloguing and organizing this vast private collection of Native American art and artifacts, working with an historical expert to compile the data on the tribe, material and era of each piece. I did all of the photography in the book (except for the cover photo of the 115-year old Blackfood tipi, which was taken on location by Wyoming photographer Alan Sinner), as well as all the layout, design and production.
